Richard Hyde
Richard Hyde is a Husband, Father, and Christian Business Owner. He started a residential contract company in 1995 which has expanded into the full-service company above the roofline you know today as American Chimney Gutter & Roofing. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Marketing & Business Management. Married for over 40 years, he has six wonderful children and 6 beautiful grandchildren.
He is a published children’s book author of “The Magic Box” to inspire creativity in the younger generation and is an avid reader himself. He is involved in and supports several ministries in his local community such as Anchor, Sunrise, and Awaken Ministries. He enjoys jazz music, golfing, and escaping to the beach with his lovely wife. He is driven to do everything with excellence to honor God in both life and business.

Company Story: American Chimney Gutter and Roofing
Established originally as Soot Masters in 1995, the Owner and CEO, Richard Hyde, decided after the 9/11 attack to rename the company American Chimney Gutter & Roofing in honor of the American citizens fallen and affected, proudly aligning the company name with the same ethics such as hard work, determination, and integrity that are needed to accomplish the American Dream.
The company has been in business for almost 30 years, an unheard-of number in the residential contracting world, and they are esteemed as the go-to full-service expert above the roofline.
